Character design from a science fiction story I'm writing.
Horizon is a fighting droid that was built to race against other similar machines in a thriving mech-racing industry in the advanced urban nation of Candox, a city of the planet Alastar. He was sold by his creator as he developed a high profile record as top dollar. His new owner retrofitted him with an AI processor and tactical analysis software, making him as cunning as he was fast and aggressive.
His owner took money in exchange for using him to rig races; gambling rings could be sure of a certain outcome once Horizon had been given the desgination and race numbers of the robots that needed to win- and the ones his owner's employers wanted to be destroyed. He was a master tactitian who mercilessly did whatever it took to ensure the correct outcome.
His upgraded CPU was his downfall, however. His original central processor was overtaxed by the AI systems and crashed during a race- he flew out of control into the ground, totaling himself. Sold for scrap metal, one life was over. But another began.
